IXR Grants

Funding to Make Learning Visible

Schools measure grades, test scores, and completion rates. These numbers show what students produce. They reveal far less about how students actually think and learn.
AI changed the equation. A student can now generate a polished response without reading the material, without reasoning through the problem, and without understanding the subject. The answer still looks the same. The thinking behind it does not.

IXR Grants

IXR grants support schools that are ready to look deeper. Each grant funds a pilot of IXR Nexus, our learning visibility system that works inside the LMS teachers already use. No new platforms. No curriculum replacement. Just visibility into the learning behaviors that grades alone cannot capture.

Two grant programs are currently open to U.S. K–12 schools, districts, alternative education programs, and universities.
Grant 01: summer 2026

Credit Recovery Learning Visibility Grant

Up to $10,000 toward the IXR Nexus Credit Recovery Pilot
Designed for summer and year-round credit recovery programs

Students who fail credit recovery do not just lose a credit. They lose confidence, attendance, and connection to school. Many pass on paper but hit the same wall the next semester. Without visibility into how learning is actually happening, educators cannot intervene early enough. The cycle repeats.

This grant funds a pilot of IXR Nexus specifically designed for credit recovery settings. Nexus gives educators visibility into learning during recovery so they can act before students disengage for good. The system surfaces how students are approaching their work, where understanding may be breaking down, and when concepts begin to connect.

The full pilot is valued at $20,000. Schools participating in the research component may receive up to $10,000 in grant funding, bringing the institution's investment to $10,000.

When students build real understanding during recovery, the effects reach further than a single course. Stronger attendance. Lower dropout risk. Fewer students cycling back into recovery the following year.

National Learning Visibility Grant

Up to $10,000 toward the IXR Nexus Pilot Part of the Raise the Bar Research Initiative
The National Learning Visibility Grant supports schools exploring a question that matters across every grade level and subject: if AI can produce the answer, what should students prove instead?

This grant funds a six-to-eight-week pilot of IXR Nexus for one teacher and up to 180 students. The full pilot is valued at $20,000. Schools selected for the grant receive up to $10,000 in funding, reducing the institution's investment to $10,000.

Nexus works inside existing assignments and surfaces learning behaviors that grades and test scores cannot capture: how students approach problems, when they pause to reflect, where they revise their understanding, and how they interact with AI-generated information.

The grant is privately funded by Illuminate XR. There are no government reporting requirements. Contributing schools are recognized in the Raise the Bar national research report.
